67 Representatives Vote Against Prevailing Wage

Just before their summer legislative recess, the House of Representatives voted on S.B. 1341.  Representative Scott Perry offered Amendment A8389, which would have removed the "prevailing wage" requirement from the Chesapeake Bay Clean-Up project.  Sixty-seven legislators voted for the amendment, which, unfortunately, did not pass.  Click here to view the full vote on Representative Perry's amendment.

PA Right to Work did thank all 67 Representatives for this act of true statesmanship.  To request a copy of the thank-you letter, click here.

Card-check Update

Thank you for taking action against H.R. 321.   It was laid on the table on December 11, 2007.  This threat is still very much alive!  If you haven't already done so, please contact your state Representative IMMEDIATELY and urge him/her to vote NO on H.R. 321. Representatives can be reached through the main switch board at (717) 787-2372 or toll-free 1-800-868-7672 . Ask for your Representative by name.  This must be stopped! The resolution urges Congress to approve legislation which would ELIMINATE the secret ballot for union elections AND would impose binding arbitration for contract resolution on all PRIVATE SECTOR employees FOR THE FIRST TIME IN U.S. HISTORY!

You can view the history of this Resolution by clicking here.
